The Obesity Epidemic
The CDC counts more than one third (35.7%) of U.S. adults as obese. Obesity related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type II diabetes, and certain cancers. 2008 medical costs associated with obesity were approximately 147 billion dollars. Obese patients spend on average an additional $1479 on health care every year. Sadly, all of these numbers are increasing in dramatic fashion as more and more people are becoming obese. 42% of the nation is expected to be obese by 2030, adding an additional $549 billion in annual medical expenditures. Obesity in Children
Seventeen percent of all children (2-19) in the US are obese today. This percentage is triple the rate from 1980.
Talking with patients, it is clear to me that people are confused. There is far too much focus on complicated diet and exercise plans (often heavily marketed) that often have a short-term goal, and far too little focus on simple long-term changes that really work. It’s time to move away from sales oriented programs and toward basic information that can truly change your life. The good news is, you don’t have to buy anything other than real food to get to a healthy weight.

I teach from a position of strength and simplicity. The vast majority of people who have become overweight are simply at a caloric imbalance. Overweight people often eat far too much (often made worse by food choices) and also often move far too little. Correcting this basic imbalance is always the key, and I have a method which is both easy, and relatively unknown to most people. This method is going to change your life if you decide to make a change for the better. You really can have the lean and healthy body that nature intended.
