Dr. Aaron Shoemaker grew up along the Salmon River in the small community of

Riggins, Idaho, where he gained an appreciation for the outdoors and a highly active lifestyle. Aaron enjoyed white water rafting, hiking, camping, fishing and snowboarding, and was equally active in school, participating in student government and varsity-level football, basketball, and track and field.

Upon graduation, Aaron earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lewis- Clark State College and then worked in the construction and mining industries for several years before following his dream to become a chiropractor. He earned his chiropractic degree from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon.

It is Dr. Shoemaker’s personal goal to bring the healing powers of chiropractic care to as many people as possible. While working a highly physical job to put himself through college, he began experiencing lower back pain, which prevented him from living his normally active lifestyle. After just a few visits to the chiropractor, the pain was gone. It was then that Aaron developed a passion for helping people the way that he had been helped. Aaron learned first hand that chiropractic not only relieves pain, but enables your body to function optimally.

Aaron is an adamant believer in the importance of natural, holistic medicine. He also believes the key to health is in the balance of a properly functioning musculoskeletal, immune and nervous system. Aaron works closely with his patients and through education and encouragement, ensures that they have the tools, knowledge and confidence needed to recover quickly and to optimize their health. He utilizes a variety of techniques to create a tailored management plan for each patient.

Dr. Shoemaker’s integrated approach to treatment includes the co-management of a patient’s new and existing conditions, and when needed, in close partnership with other healthcare professionals, including medical and naturopathic doctors, physical therapists, massage therapists and acupuncturists.

Dr. Shoemaker’s love for the outdoors and helping others led him to Alaska where today, he is ecstatically living out his dream.
